Every Sunday and for the whole week thereafter I read the Sunday Times and all its parts at any snatched moment that I can get in peace. Hats off to the paper for their Spectrum section which devotes whole pages to brilliant Photographers who document life around the globe. This is something that no other paper gives space to and it is a pity because there are some seriously talented Photographers out there showing us what life is like for other people in neighbourhoods, villages and cities around the world.
This week they featured work by an Australian snapper called Trent Parke whose work is on a website with other Street Photographers called iN-PUBLiC.com.
This line from part of their introduction really grabbed me:
“The pictures remind us that, if we let it, over-familiarity can make us blind to what’s really going on in the world around us.”
I would recommend clicking on to iN-PUBLiC’s site to see more of Trent’s work and other great Photographers.
