Last Sunday I had to make myself respectable for the 2011 Irish Professional Photographers Association Awards. Here is what it was all about.. Pictured at the Irish Professional Photographers Awards 2011 are Gareth Byrne, President, IPPA presenting a Certificate of Excellence to Pauline Dennigan, Dennigan Photography, Tralee. Pauline was presented with the cert in recognition for winning 6 gold awards with the IPPA for her wedding photographs which were all taken in Kerry. The awards were held in the Burlington […]
I had intended in posting a new wedding but after meeting one of my brides, Myrna last night I decided I would delve into her wedding again because there were some beautiful shots that I had forgotten about. We sat down to choose the photographs for her and Jamie’s album while having a laugh over some incidents on the day of the wedding, the flat tyre on the wedding car being the most memorable..

Here are my 6 winning photographs which achieved Gold Awards at the Irish Professional Photographers Association two nights ago. I am now in the running for IPPA Photographer of the Year 2010, but let me tell you it is very, very difficult to win and the the standard of my colleagues is incredible so don’t hold your breath…. Crazy busy at the moment but I had to post this shot of Elva and Eoin who came from Dublin to get married in Sneem. They have a huge appreciation for this part of Kerry so I really wanted to do justice to the beautiful landscape and to their sense of excitement about it. I am in the middle of editing Elva and Eoin’s wedding and believe me there are many more gems to be posted over the coming week..

A very quick post that I will add to in the coming week. Ciara and James travelled from London to get married in Tralee. James is of Scottish descent so I had not one or two, but five groomsmen (and james) dressed in kilts and furry purses (sporran)! The sporran was very handy for storing Ciara’s lip gloss… This moment of walking down the stairs of her family home is quite exciting and scary for a Bride for many different […]

Just found out this photograph taken by ME, ME, ME of the gorgeous of Helena Hanbidge was shortlisted for the IPPA Canon Portrait Award. It was taken at the recent Happy Faces Day Event in Tralee in aid of the Cystic Fibrosis Assoc. of Ireland (CFAI)…
After being diverted into other projects I am now back on the wedding vibe. In the coming weeks I will showing off some more wedding photographs that I love.. Leah and Shane’s wedding was probably one of the toughest weddings I have photographed which had nothing to do with Leah and Shane but with the severe time constraints involved. The wedding reception was in the Ritz Carlton Hotel, Powerscourt in Enniskerry, Co. Wicklow. There was the presumption that as we […]

Today my fabulous models, Aishling Spillane (age 18, just completed her course in Broadcast Journalism, deals with Cystic Fibrosis and has the makings of professional model), Fiachra O’ Connor (age 14 this Sunday who fully cooperated with me when I asked him to wear a pink t-shirt. What a professional!) and Holly Smith (age 5, on a promise of Jelly Tots and staying up late tonight in return for some smiles!) and finally the very kind Pamela Lucey from the […]
